Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services)

RPS is seeking Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineers (Building Services) to join our teams in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, or Newcastle on a hybrid basis.

About The Design Business: RPS Design Division delivers projects across sectors like residential, logistics, retail, healthcare, education, energy, and more, balancing sustainability, materiality, cost, and constructability. We leverage digitalisation to enhance project delivery from concept to completion.

What you’ll be doing: This role offers career progression for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer. Responsibilities include:

• Producing detailed design calculations and sketches
• Collaborating with Senior Engineers and Technicians
• Surveying, designing, specifying, and administering projects
• Designing electrical systems for new and refurbishment projects
• Participating in feasibility, concept, and scheme design stages
• Attending design meetings and inspecting systems
• Using software for calculations and CAD drawings
• Ensuring compliance with legislation and safety standards
• Selecting products and equipment

Who we’re looking for: Ideally, you hold a degree in Electrical Engineering and have experience aligned with IET or CIBSE requirements. Skills include:

• Designing electrical systems from concept to detailed design
• Proficiency in Amtech, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
• Understanding of Building Regulations Part L
