Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Water)

We are currently recruiting multiple Senior Electrical Design Engineers (Water) for major long-term frameworks across the UK, including a significant £100 million framework with United Utilities to improve river health in Northwest England.

RPS has over 20 years of collaboration with United Utilities on innovative water projects. As we approach AMP8, this is an exciting time to work in the water industry, contributing to sustainable and impactful projects.

Our team, RPS Water Consulting, comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts delivering Asset Management and Operational Strategy solutions. We work with several major water companies, supporting long-term programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career growth.

About You:

You will be responsible for delivering projects technically, managing budgets, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality standards. Your role will involve collaboration, innovation, and making a positive impact on communities.

Your Responsibilities:

• Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, safety, and environmental standards.
• Develop innovative technical solutions based on client needs.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA disciplines.
• Build relationships with clients and partners on project matters.
• Support design and advisory services for water and wastewater assets.
• Produce and review detailed electrical designs, calculations, and reports.
• Manage technical delivery of projects, using digital design techniques.
• Mentor and develop team members.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Extensive experience in process plant systems within the water industry.
• Hands-on experience with water and wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in digital design for construction projects.
• Leadership experience in technical teams.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical field; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership.
• Membership with professional bodies like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM preferred.
