Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Water)

We are recruiting multiple Senior Electrical Design Engineers (Water) for various long-term frameworks across the UK.

RPS, in partnership with Tetra Tech, has secured a £100 million framework from United Utilities to improve river health in Northwest England, supporting the UK water industry through innovative projects and long-term programs.

Our team, RPS Water Consulting, consists of Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts delivering Asset Management and Operational Strategy solutions to water industry clients, focusing on innovation and teamwork.

Responsibilities include technical project delivery, budget monitoring, deadline management, and quality assurance, with an emphasis on exceeding client expectations.

As part of our team, you'll work on impactful projects with leading water companies, contributing to sustainable water management and community well-being.

Your Responsibilities:

• Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, safety, and environmental standards.
• Develop innovative technical solutions based on client needs.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA.
• Build and maintain client and partner relationships.
• Support design and advisory services for water and wastewater facilities.
• Perform detailed electrical design calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
• Manage the technical delivery of multidisciplinary projects, utilizing digital design tools.
• Mentor and develop team members.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Extensive experience in process plant systems within the water industry.
• Hands-on experience with water and wastewater projects.
• Proficiency in digital design within construction projects.
• Leadership experience in technical or discipline teams.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
• Chartered status or working towards it.
• Membership with professional institutions like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM, or in the process of applying.
