Job summary

Real Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a London-based hardware startup seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. The role focuses on owning the industrial AC power architecture as the company scales from 1MW to multi-megawatt plants, with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
• Minimum 5 years in industrial electrical design.
• Knowledge of IEC 61508 and SIL/SIF in hazardous environments.
• Creative problem-solver with ability to challenge conventional engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own the full AC power system architecture for megawatt scale plants.
• Produce and maintain schematics, protection strategies, cable sizing and panel designs.
• Lead safety system architecture including HAZOPs/HAZIDs/FMEAs.
• Design electrical systems across reactor, electrolyzer and DAC subsystems.
• Lead panel certification under Machinery Directive and Low Voltage Directive.
• Commission solar arrays and RNG plant electrical systems.
• Ensure safety and functionality through commissioning activities.
• Support Senior Engineers with field tasks.
