Job summary

Aspiring Senior Electrical Design Engineer role in the UK, focusing on end-to-end electrical design for material handling systems. You will own concepts through commissioning and work with manufacturing, installation and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to new product development and drive continuous improvement across the department.

Qualifications

Degree/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years in an Electrical Design role.
Experience with PLCs, VFDs and electrical schematics.
Ability to apply electrical standards and best practices.
Strong communication across departments.

Responsibilities

Design electrical control systems for bespoke projects.
Produce and maintain electrical schematics and documentation using CAD.
Select and specify electrical components, cabling and control equipment.
Configure and support PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Provide technical support during build, testing, commissioning and fault finding.
Assist with prototype development, testing and design validation.
Support and mentor junior engineers within the team.
Work collaboratively with production, installation and project teams.
Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, product quality and efficiency.
Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical standards and procedures.
