Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a skilled Application Design Engineer to join our team in Leeds. You will design and apply 11kV Genie-EVO switchgear, ensuring customer specs and industry standards are met, while delivering engineering solutions from concept to completion.

You will work on 2D/3D drawings, BOMs, relay programming, and documentation. The role requires collaboration with customers and supports hybrid delivery, combining remote and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in application or electrical design engineering.
• Experience with 11kV Genie-EVO switchgear and ENA standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, ePLAN or similar.
• Strong understanding of MV switchgear and protection relay programming.
• Knowledge of UK utility standards and practices.
• Excellent communication skills for customer interaction and technical discussions.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and develop application-specific solutions using 11kV Genie-EVO switchgear.
• Create and manage 2D ePLAN drawings, including 3D layout elements.
• Lead and participate in technical design meetings with customers.
• Ensure all designs comply with ENA Wiring Standards and customer specifications.
• Program and configure protection relays.
• Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with procurement needs.
• Generate and manage technical documentation, including design reports and relay configuration files.
• Support hybrid project delivery, working both remotely and on-site as required.
