Job summary

Brightsmith seeks a senior electrical design engineer to contribute to electrical and power electronic design of their products. You will develop electrical architectures, design grid-connected systems (AC/DC), and ensure compliance with international standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with MW-scale power generation and AC/DC distribution.
• Knowledge of grid connections and relevant regulations.
• Hands-on design experience including cable sizing and protection devices.
• Proficient with power system modeling tools (ETAP, EPLAN, MATLAB).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Proactive problem solving in R&D environments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of fuel cell and electrolyser stack designs.
• Design electrical networks for grid-connected systems (AC/DC).
• Produce electrical architecture drawings and wiring schematics.
• Manage electrical design materials and documentation for stakeholders.
• Review and approve design work by electrical contractors/installers.
• Ensure designs meet IEEE, IEC, NFPA standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigate project risks.
• Support installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
