About the role

Join our Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick team as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Devonport. You can base yourself from any UK regional office across England and Scotland, with monthly travel to Devonport.

Role Purpose

Create Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation designs according to client specifications. Manage relevant specialist work packages to meet project requirements.

Applicants must have full UK work rights and be eligible for SC security clearance.

What you'll be doing

Design LV electrical distribution systems (HV experience desirable but not essential). Design cable containment/support systems. Undergo necessary security clearances (BPSS/SC). Experience working in nuclear environments is preferred.

Create and manage documentation including specifications, datasheets, cable calculations, reports, drawings, change requests, and commissioning reports. Review manufacturer documents for compliance. Support technical reviews and develop relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers. Mentor team members.

Who we're looking for

Proficiency in Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign. Focus on collaboration and relationship-building. Experience with Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of codes of practice and regulations.
