We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our London office. You will be capable of managing multiple medium-sized projects, engaging in client-facing roles in development, design, and coordination of engineering projects, including producing design packages for contractors on design-and-build contracts. Responsibilities include overseeing medium-sized projects and leading client interactions in the development, design, and coordination of electrical systems, equipment, and facilities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage medium-sized projects, leading client-facing development, design, and coordination of electrical engineering services.
  • Develop and specify applications for controls, instruments, and operating systems for building engineering services.
  • Conduct surveys, tests, and reports on existing electrical installations.
  • Specify activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Make day-to-day decisions on project progress and liaise with clients, providing advice as needed.
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with clients, professional teams, and contractors.
  • Perform engineering calculations to ensure compliance with industry and legal standards.
  • Ensure the technical accuracy and content quality of work produced by trainees, graduates, and engineers.
  • Validate and review designs and specifications.

Role Requirements

The candidate should possess:

  • A BEng or MSc degree with sufficient experience.
  • MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND with relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Progress towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Experience in specification design and drawing for various building types.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and issues.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
  • Understanding of BS standards.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Managerial skills.
  • Experience in consulting or construction preferred.
  • Understanding of international working practices and global consultancy operations.
  • Adherence to ethical principles and company ethics policies.
