Job summary

Northcote M&E is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical building services from inception to completion for a wide range of schemes.

You will produce tender drawings using AutoCAD/Revit, perform design calculations, coordinate with clients and site teams, and ensure QA procedures are followed. The role requires a degree in electrical engineering and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in electrical system design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Revit for drawings.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to perform design calculations.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling.
• Familiarity with PLCs, ARM microcontrollers and firmware development.
• Excellent communication for cross-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Attend client/design team briefings to establish project criteria.
• Develop design options in collaboration with directors.
• Prepare space planning for plant rooms and primary services.
• Prepare budget costings and monitor design development.
• Produce tender drawings per QA procedures (AutoCAD/Revit).
• Conduct site surveys and liaise with suppliers and contractors.
• Perform electrical design calculations (lighting, cable sizing, DB schedules).
• Coordinate with CAD/Revit resources to meet deadlines.
