Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to shape the design and integration of advanced electrical systems within airframe engineering. You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering safe, cost-effective designs across the product lifecycle.

The role requires hands-on CATIA V5 Electrical 3D/2D work, collaboration with suppliers and customers, and mentoring junior engineers. This is a 12-month contract with hybrid working (2–3 days onsite) at Samlesbury, UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in airframe or equivalent electrical design roles.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 Electrical and familiarity with PLM systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, integrated team.
• Experience collaborating with external suppliers and partners.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle governance and safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical design solutions that meet complex functional and safety requirements.
• Use CATIA V5 Electrical 3D & 2D toolsets to design and install electrical equipment and harness routing.
• Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and customers in a team-oriented environment.
• Verify and release design data to project standards while maintaining quality, cost, and schedule.
• Identify and manage technical risks, propose solutions, and support design modifications.
• Mentor and support other design team members to enhance engineering capability.
