Job Description

Knowledge, skills, and personal qualities:

• BTEC, HNC/HND, or Honours Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of electrical design CAD packages - EPLAN would be advantageous
• Ability to advise on RN procedures and documentation for installation and trials
• Good knowledge of appropriate drawing and defence standards
• Understanding of Design Assurance in electrical/electronic design processes
• Knowledge of design for EMC and electrical safety
• Assessing products and applying applicable CE marking directives and standards, including product assessment and documentation for the Technical Construction File
• Investigating and solving complex problems with subcontractors, suppliers, and customers
• Maintaining a design data pack for reliable manufacturing and performance
• Producing specifications and outline designs
• Recommending modifications based on prototype test results
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality policies
• Supporting trials on surface vessels and submarines
• Supporting Test & Acceptance Department and Production as needed
• Collaborating with professionals within and outside the Mechatronics Department
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
