Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Maidstone or Crawley office
Salary: £80,574 plus car and a bonus of 3%
Employment Type: Permanent
Working Arrangement: Blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

Job Purpose: Working across an Assets and Connections Portfolio, you will produce and assure high-quality electrical designs to an agreed scope. Designs to be delivered to cost, time, and quality targets. All designs must meet UK Power Networks design and CDM standards.
These designs could be for both non-contestable and contestable works. You will work as part of a diverse team, delivering design technical excellence.
Principal Accountabilities:
Qualifications: Electrical engineering background and experience.
Knowledge: Power system and protection design at 132KV, 33KV, 11KV, and intermediate voltages; design processes and DNO, ENA, and international design standards; working with external engineering organizations and customers/partners; design approval in specific areas; safety culture and understanding of CDM Regulations; ability to work independently; team working skills; awareness of financial, environmental, safety, and regulatory systems; project management knowledge; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD or MicroStation; awareness of developments in distribution plant and equipment; broad knowledge of cables and overhead lines; input into construction techniques; degree in engineering or science; Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartership.
Additional: Site visits including entry to operational substations, compliance with safety rules and procedures.
