Job summary

CIBSE Journal seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design across major projects such as hospitals, military facilities, data centres and prisons. You will handle HV and LV systems, generation, fire alarms, security and lighting, delivering integrated, safe and compliant solutions.

You will collaborate with design partners and the supply chain, review outputs for constructability and CDM compliance, manage procurement, and mentor graduate engineers while keeping KPI

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Electrical Engineering and process equipment designs.
• Familiar with MCC build and HV/LV subsystems including DNO and site power.
• Experience conducting factory acceptance testing.
• Full driving licence and UK citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering delivery across multiple schemes with integrated designs.
• Collaborate with Tier 2 supply chain to ensure constructability and CDM compliance.
• Liaise with client engineering and operations to meet KPIs within budget.
• Procure plant, materials, and subcontractors; prepare estimates and contracts.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

UK Nationals Only (UK Defence Contract)

Circa 400/day Ltd (outside IR35)

Join us as a Senior Electrical Engineer on an exciting major projects (Hospitals, Military, Data Centres, Prisons)

You’ll play a key role in delivering multiple electrical aspects across power engineering led projects consisting of High Voltage, Low Voltage, Generation, Fire Alarms, Security, Lighting etc

This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with our design partners and supply chain to create innovative solutions that meet our client's requirements whilst maintaining the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.

What will you be responsible for?

• Leading electrical engineering delivery for multiple schemes, collaborating with Tier 2 Supply Chain design teams to ensure designs are fully integrated, clash-free, and compliant with specifications
• Working alongside our design partner to ensure constructability and CDM compliance, including reviewing and approving design outputs
• Liaising with the client's engineering and operational staff to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators within budget constraints
• Managing procurement of plant, materials, and specialist subcontractors, preparing estimates, quotations, and contract documentation
• Mentoring and supporting graduate electrical engineers, helping to develop the next generation of talent

What are we looking for?

• You have a strong working knowledge of Electrical Engineering, including key suppliers and process equipment designs
• You're familiar with MCC build and systems integration, including HV and LV subsystems, DNO, and site power supply requirements
• You can conduct factory acceptance testing
• You hold a Full driving licence
• You are a UK citizen
