We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our clients' in-house design team. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in building services engineering, with a focus on high-spec fit-out projects. This is a hands-on design role involving coordination, technical leadership, and client-facing responsibilities on fast-paced Commercial, Industrial, and Banking sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design and development of electrical building services including LV distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security, and containment systems.
2. Produce detailed design drawings, calculations, specifications, and equipment schedules in accordance with project requirements and relevant UK regulations.
3. Coordinate electrical services with other disciplines (mechanical, architectural, structural) to ensure fully integrated solutions.
4. Review and approve designs from external consultants or subcontractors, ensuring technical compliance and value engineering where appropriate.
5. Attend site meetings, carry out site inspections, support installation teams, and oversee commissioning processes.
6. Interface with clients, project managers, and contractors to clarify design intent and manage technical queries.
7. Mentor junior design staff and support their development within the team.
8. Ensure all work is completed in line with the client's quality assurance, sustainability, and health & safety standards.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
2. Minimum 7 years’ experience in a building services consultancy, design house, or similar.
3. Proven experience in delivering electrical designs on Commercial office fit-outs, Banking facilities, or Industrial developments.
4. Strong working knowledge of UK electrical standards (BS 7671), CIBSE guidelines, and relevant building regulations.
5. Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, and preferably Revit.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
7. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working toward it.
8. BIM Level 2 experience and understanding of collaborative design processes.
9. Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (e.g., BREEAM, LEED).
10. Experience working within a design & build environment.
