Introduction:

Our client, BAE Systems, a leading name in the defence and security sector, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Naval Ships business on a 12-month contract.

The role is based in Scotstoun with hybrid working available, requiring on-site presence 1–2 days per week.

What will I be doing?

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for managing LV distribution, electrical safety, QPS, and overseeing LV cabling, cable routing, and converted supplies.

The role includes designing and maintaining LV protection, earthing systems, lighting solutions (general and specialised), and supervising portable apparatus and domestic supplies.

You'll also handle aviation support, degaussing tasks, and ensure the integrity of hull preservation systems.

What do I need to succeed in this role?

  • Proven experience in electrical engineering within the defence and marine sector, with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.
  • Proficient in LV systems, including distribution, QPS, electrical safety, protection systems, and earthing.
  • Skilled in infrastructure and equipment, covering LV cabling and routing, converted supplies, portable apparatus, and both general and specialised lighting.
  • Knowledgeable in specialised support systems, such as aviation support, degaussing, and hull preservation.
  • Experience within a shipbuilding or marine setting.
