Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Freelance)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading Main Contractor on a freelance basis, working on a high–profile healthcare project.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and managing electrical design solutions, ensuring compliance with technical standards, project specifications, and healthcare sector requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead electrical design development from concept through to detailed design.
• Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure design integrity.
• Produce detailed calculations using industry–standard software (Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and in–house tools).
• Ensure compliance with HTM (Health Technical Memoranda) standards and all relevant regulations.
• Provide technical guidance, resolve design challenges, and manage design risks.
• Review and approve drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
• Support project delivery with a focus on quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Design Engineer within large–scale healthcare or similarly complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare design standards (including HTM / HBN).
• Previous experience working with or for a Main Contractor is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast–paced, multidisciplinary environment.
