Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Design electrical control systems for packaging machinery using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
• Develop and write machine software using Rockwell, Beckhoff, and Zenon.
• Conduct control system safety analysis using Sistema.
• Attend specification meetings with customers and provide expert input on electrical design aspects.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to ensure fully coordinated designs.
• Complete engineering designs on time and within cost targets.
• Carry out risk assessments on machinery and ensure compliance with CE, National Electric Code, CSA, and UL requirements.
• Write and develop PLC, Servo Motion, HMI, and Safety controller code for machine control.
• Commission packaging machinery at Syntegon and customer sites.
• Provide technical support, including occasional on-site assistance.
• Lead projects when working with multiple engineers.
• Identify, research, and evaluate new technologies.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required (valid passport and driving licence necessary).

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
• 10+ years of Electrical and Software Engineering experience, preferably in the Packaging industry
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN, and programming using Rockwell, Beckhoff, and Zenon software
• Experience with control system safety analysis using Sistema
• Working knowledge of CE, National Electric Code, CSA, and UL requirements
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead projects
• Valid passport and driving licence for domestic and international travel
