Senior Electrical Controls Engineer — Bespoke Automation

Job summary

Reevr Talent Ltd is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, develop and deliver electrical control systems for bespoke automation machinery across automotive, medical, plastics and packaging sectors.

You will design control systems, create detailed electrical diagrams and BOMs, ensure compliance with safety directives, and lead electrical technicians through builds and instals on site or nearby customer sites.

Qualifications

• Experience designing electrical and safety systems for automated machinery
• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Controls Engineering or related discipline
• Strong knowledge of machine safety standards and CE marking
• Experience carrying out machine risk assessments (SISTEMA advantageous)
• Essential experience using ePlan electrical design software
• Experience with PLC programming on Siemens/Omron/B&R/Rockwell platforms
• Experience integrating robotic systems (SCARA/Delta/6-axis) would be beneficial
• 2+ years in control systems engineering in automation machinery environment
• Hands-on practical approach with strong technical understanding
• Excellent communication with customers, suppliers and internal teams
• Willingness to travel and work away from home when required

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing machine control system solutions for special purpose automation equipment
• Producing electrical documentation using ePlan, circuit diagrams and BOMs
• Designing electrical systems in line with machinery directives and safety standards
• Selecting electrical components and supporting procurement
• Delivering control systems and wiring within timescales and budgets
• Supervising electrical technicians during machine builds
• Fault finding electrical and safety control systems in-house and on-site
• Assisting with machine installation, commissioning and troubleshooting
• Supporting customer service including UK and overseas site visits
• Developing and improving standardised control system solutions
• Assisting modifications and enhancements to existing machinery
