Qualifications

  • Experience with Siemens PLCs is a must.

Overview

A leading clean energy technology business is seeking a Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer to support advanced energy systems and develop next- integrated power solutions.

You will lead the design, verification, and documentation of instrumentation and control systems, from requirements capture and schematics through to integration, validation, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering development and project deliverables
  • Define system architectures and optimise technical solutions
  • Create single-line diagrams, detailed designs, and specifications
  • Ensure compliance, validation, and manufacturing documentation
  • Collaborate on product integration across teams
  • Support safety reviews (HAZOP, SIL, LOPA) and troubleshooting
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience with electrical system design to EN 60204
  • Knowledge of BS7671:2018 and functional safety (EN 61511)
  • Proficiency with PLCs, especially Siemens
  • Strong fault-finding and IT skills
  • Willingness to travel for projects and customer support
Desirable
  • CE/UKCA compliance experience
  • EMC/EMI issue resolution
  • Low Voltage Competent Person certification
  • Background in a quality-driven engineering environment
