Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Controls Engineer

Location: Barnsley - On-site position

Salary Range: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum

We are currently working with a scaling company looking to add an Electrical Senior Controls Engineer with strong electrical understanding. Our client is a turnkey engineering solutions provider offering design, manufacturing, and project services across various industries, including moving structures, nuclear engineering, and large-scale engineering components.

They seek a senior controls engineer to take ownership of large, long-lasting products and work on projects with multi-year life cycles. While the position is based in Barnsley and initially requires on-site presence, there is potential for flexible working arrangements in the future.

The responsibilities of this position include:

1. Design and program PLC systems primarily using Siemens software, e.g., Siemens TIA Portal/S7.
2. Create and produce Functional Design Specifications (FDS), System Design Specifications (SDS), and test documents (FAT/SAT) for acceptance testing.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. At least 6 years of experience in Controls Engineering, preferably within a turnkey solutions environment.
2. Knowledge of industrial control systems, including electrical distribution equipment, motor control centers, and PLC control panels.
