Senior Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to join Edwards Abatement Solutions in Clevedon.

Mission

Reporting to the Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Manager, the Senior ECI Engineer will oversee projects from concept to customer commissioning and field trials, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and to specifications. The role involves implementing engineering strategies and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Utilize engineering tools and methods to develop products that meet requirements, standards, and are cost-effective.
  2. Collaborate with engineering teams to clarify work packages, deliverables, and resolve issues.
  3. Be responsible for the technical design of systems/subsystems, identifying risks and mitigation actions.
  4. Ensure modularity and standardization to maximize reuse of engineering efforts.
  5. Oversee safety and type testing, verifying compliance and reviewing reports.
  6. Contribute to project planning, prioritize tasks, and monitor progress.
  7. Improve controls engineering processes continually.
  8. Provide technical content for manuals and instructions, reviewing content from others.
  9. Perform tests and support factory and field issues as an expert.

Experience & Skills

Qualifications:

  • HND or degree in a relevant technical discipline (Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, or Software).
  • At least 5 years of experience in controls and software within relevant industries.

Experience:

  • Practical application of product design and development in electrical controls and instrumentation.
  • Experience with PLC programming, HMI programming, software configuration, and understanding of electrical schematics.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, including compliance standards like EN/UL61010, EN60204, EMC EN61326-1, and safety standards like EN 61508, EN 13849, EN 61511.
