Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer in Southampton (Romsey) to join a respected consultancy delivering mechanical and electrical design across multiple sectors. You will lead electrical design activities, liaise with clients and architects, and drive project delivery from concept through to completion.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Building Services Consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building services design principles.
• Experience designing power, lighting, fire alarm, PV and EV charging systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects through all RIBA stages.
• Produce electrical designs including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, PV and EV charging infrastructure.
• Prepare technical specifications, design calculations, reports and contract documentation.
• Attend client meetings, design team meetings and site visits.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical engineers, architects and external consultants.
• Support tender processes, contractor reviews and technical evaluations.
• Ensure designs comply with current regulations, industry standards and sustainability requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to project success.
