Align Property Services is seeking a Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. The role focuses on delivering electrical building services design across projects, mentoring junior staff, and supporting project management from concept through to completion.
You will work on complex schemes, ensure compliance with NEC/JCT contracts, and contribute to sustainability objectives while traveling across the area.

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per year, dependant on experience
Location:Northallerton, North Yorkshire
Contract:Permanent, Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Our Building Services team has recently delivered a series of rapid-response mechanical and electrical projects for Durham County Council, supporting their drive toward net-zero carbon and improved building performance. Working across a diverse estate of schools, leisure facilities, libraries, and community buildings, we’ve managed everything from early-stage feasibility studies to major electrical and mechanical upgrades.
Through the NEPO Mechanical and Electrical Framework, the team successfully delivered ten projects, including schemes at Consett Branch Library, Coxhoe Active Life, Copeland Road Primary School, Shotton Primary Swimming Pool, Delves Lane Primary, Villa Real School, and Rookhope Primary. These projects involved integrating renewable and energy-efficient technologies such as solar PV, air source heat pumps, low-energy lighting, fire alarm upgrades, and modernised heating and electrical systems which were all completed with minimal disruption to essential services.
Every commission was delivered on time and to a high standard, improving building usability, reducing energy consumption, and directly supporting the council’s sustainability objectives. You will be responsible for providing a variety of services including those relating to building pathology, design, project management, building surveys and contract administration as well as producing early design advice through to detailed electrical services design.You'll have the opportunity to support and mentor our junior members of the team as they develop their skills and knowledge and look to you for your guidance.
