Job summary

My client is recruiting for a Senior Electrical ICA Engineer in the Water Sector.

Key skills required for this role

Water sector experience is essential.

About the company

They have an extensive portfolio of UK, overseas, and global projects, focusing on asset creation, process improvement, and plant optimisation. Their multidisciplinary teams include electrical, ICA, process, mechanical, and civil engineers, providing innovative solutions in water and wastewater infrastructure.

Projects involved include:
  • LV and HV power systems, motor control centres, process instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
  • DSEAR/ATEX and functional safety.
  • Use of intelligent P&IDs, 3D designs, plant visualization, and virtual reality.
  • Power systems analysis software.
  • Design tools including intelligent design schedules and MCC design software.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct asset surveys and assessments using advanced technologies.
  • Perform feasibility, outline, and detailed electrical and ICA design work, including specifications, design schedules, drawings, and risk assessments.
  • Write technical reports throughout project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with clients domestically and internationally.
  • Support or lead bids, proposals, and activity planning.
  • Deliver projects within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Create technical papers and presentations for conferences and clients.
  • Assist with technical investigations and expert witness reports.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced colleagues.
  • Contribute ideas for innovation and process improvements.
  • Present project work at meetings and conferences.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical or ICA engineering; Chartered status preferred.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and confident communicator.
  • Interest and experience in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Leadership and technical expertise, with experience managing teams and projects.
  • Active external profile and reputation development.
  • Willingness to contribute to technical networks and develop digital design tools.
