Job summary

TNEI is seeking a Principal or Senior Consultant with expertise in Environmental Impact Assessment and infrastructure consenting to join its Environmental & Engineering team in the UK. The role involves leading EIA workstreams for transmission and distribution projects, engaging stakeholders and coordinating multidisciplinary specialists.

Based in Glasgow, Newcastle or Manchester with hybrid working, you will mentor junior staff, develop project programmes and support clients through NSIPs,

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, Planning, Ecology, or Environmental Management.
• Experience coordinating EIAs including acting as EIA Coordinator or Environmental Lead.
• Experience supporting or leading infrastructure, power or grid projects.
• Knowledge of UK planning and environmental legislation; strong project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments for transmission, distribution, and onshore renewables.
• Coordinate specialist disciplines and environmental surveys.
• Prepare and review Environmental Reports and EIA chapters.
• Manage integration of environmental considerations into project design.
• Support consenting for substations, overhead lines, and grid upgrades.
• Mentor and support junior consultants.
