Summary

Freedom Network Services is currently recruiting an experienced Operational Estimator to compile comprehensive estimations based on supplied documentation and current standards.

As a Senior EHV Cost Estimator, you will lead surveying and pricing of new Connection Projects and be responsible for managing and delivering accurate, tailored estimates efficiently. You will play a key role in driving company growth by ensuring enquiries are handled efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with client specifications.

You should have knowledge and experience working with local DNO networks and/or Grid projects, including ICP and IDNO connections. Projects may include scaffolding, trackway, traffic management, materials, plant, equipment, and resources.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing quotations from specifications and drawings within set timeframes
  • Conducting on-site surveys and assessments, evaluating risks and potential issues
  • Evaluating options and alternatives
  • Checking accuracy and completeness of third-party documents and specifications
  • Collaborating with procurement to obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Producing formal quotation documentation
  • Communicating with operational colleagues
  • Attending handover meetings to explain project scope, estimates, clarifications, and assumptions

Candidate requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Overhead EHV/Transmission installations, conductors, insulators, etc.
  • Experience in estimating or delivery roles involving Grid or DNO/IDNO/ICP connections projects
  • Formal training in Electrical or Power Engineering is advantageous
  • Proven track record in providing technical solutions and costing in electrical and civil engineering environments
  • Full driving license
