Senior EHV Cost Estimator UK wide / Flexible

Summary

Freedom Network Services is currently recruiting an experienced Operational Estimator to compile comprehensive estimations in line with supplied documentation and current standards.

As a Senior EHV Cost Estimator, you will lead on surveying and pricing new Connection Projects, managing and delivering accurate estimates efficiently. You will play a key role in driving company growth by ensuring enquiries are handled effectively, accurately, and in accordance with client specifications.

You should have knowledge and experience working with local DNO networks and/or National Grid projects, including ICP and IDNO connections. Typical projects involve scaffolding, trackway, traffic management, materials, plant, equipment, and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare quotations from specifications and drawings within set timeframes.
  2. Conduct on-site surveys and assessments, evaluating risks and potential issues.
  3. Evaluate options or alternatives.
  4. Check accuracy and completeness of third-party documents and specifications.
  5. Collaborate with procurement to obtain competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
  6. Produce formal quotation documentation.
  7. Liaise with operational colleagues.
  8. Participate in handover meetings to clarify project scope, estimates, and assumptions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Detailed knowledge of Overhead EHV/Transmission installations.
  • Experience in estimating roles or delivery backgrounds involving National Grid or DNO/IDNO/ICP projects.
  • Formal training in Electrical or Power Engineering is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in technical solutions and costing in electrical and civil engineering environments.
  • Full driving license.
