Senior EHV Cost Estimator

Summary

Freedom Network Services is currently recruiting an experienced Operational Estimator to compile comprehensive estimations based on supplied documentation and current standards.

As a Senior EHV Cost Estimator, you will lead surveying and pricing for new Connection Projects, managing and delivering accurate, tailored estimates efficiently. You will play a key role in driving company growth by ensuring enquiries are handled effectively, accurately, and in accordance with client specifications.

You should have knowledge and experience working with local DNO networks and/or National Grid projects, including ICP and IDNO connections. Typical projects will involve scaffolding, trackway, traffic management, materials, plant, equipment, and resources.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing quotations from specifications and drawings within set timelines
  • Conducting on-site surveys and assessments, evaluating risks and potential issues
  • Evaluating options or alternatives
  • Checking the accuracy and completeness of third-party documents and engineering specifications
  • Collaborating with procurement to obtain the best quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
  • Producing formal quotation documentation
  • Liaising with operational colleagues
  • Attending handover meetings to explain project scope, estimates, clarifications, and assumptions

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of Overhead EHV/Transmission installations, conductors, insulators, etc.
  • Experience in estimating or delivering projects involving National Grid or DNO/IDNO/ICP connections
  • Formal training in Electrical or Power Engineering is advantageous
  • Proven ability to provide technical solutions and costing in electrical and civil engineering environments
  • Valid full driving license
