Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Enabling professionals to collaborate and thrive as psychological practitioners.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and innovative Senior Educational Psychologist to join the leadership team of a well-regarded psychology service.

There is a clear vision for the value of applied psychology in promoting positive outcomes for our children and young people with Special Educational Needs & Disability.

There is a strong commitment and culture of collaborative and creative working both within and across local services, as we continue to deliver psychological services for mental health and wellbeing, children in care, anti-bullying (Positive & Peaceful Places), community cohesion, and international new arrivals.

In addition to a core offer of psychological services delivered to all our City schools, we have a traded offer and are commissioned to support the increase in specialist arrangements within our mainstream schools.

What you'll be doing:

As a Senior EP, you will provide effective leadership for the professional quality and effectiveness of designated areas of the service. All of our staff have protected time within our time allocation model to dedicated areas, to ensure a balance of statutory, early intervention, and training and development time. You will be responsible for aspects of the operational management of our broad-based psychology service.

Engaging with a broad range of partnerships, you will ensure that the advice and support given by EPs, Trainee EPs, and Assistant Psychologists complies with professionally expected standards.

We are seeking an excellent applied Educational Psychologist looking for that next step in their career to play a key role in the leadership of our friendly, supportive, and well-regarded culturally diverse service. We are continually looking for new opportunities to develop initiatives and projects that focus on early intervention and preventative practice, and welcome your contribution to our ongoing development.

You will be provided with high-quality supervision and CPD with regular opportunities for peer support and collaborative working.

We have well-established links with the Universities Doctoral EP training courses, local universities, and NAPEP, AEP, and BPS.

What you'll need:

We are looking for a Senior EP who is enthusiastic about the value of applied psychology in promoting positive outcomes for our children and young people and their families. You will also need to be creative and flexible with excellent interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a reflective approach to practice and a commitment to furthering the development of our children's workforce.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have sound knowledge and experience of a wide range of psychological assessments, interventions, and collaborative action research at individual, group, and at the whole school and locality level.

As a Senior EP you will need to manage people and resources. As an experienced and successful educational psychologist, you will need to be a professional role model, able to motivate others to achieve set objectives and nurture their professional development.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who will be able to work effectively with others to support and promote children and young people's progress, inclusion, and safeguarding.

Applicants must be professionally qualified and registered with the HCPC.
