Job description

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Job Description

Would you like to be part of leading an innovative, values-led, and highly supportive Educational Psychology Service (EPS), which has a wide variety of types of work including a strong early intervention and traded offer?

If you do, we have two Senior EP roles available:-

  • A permanent full time Senior EP role where you will work alongside another Senior EP in leading and managing the EPs in our Eastbourne office.
  • A permanent part time Senior EP role for 22.5 hours where you will work alongside another Senior EP in leading and managing the EPs in our Hastings office.

As a Senior EP in East Sussex EPS, you will have a good balance of core, traded and statutory work and the autonomy to apply psychology in ways that align with your values and interests. You will contribute to the strategic leadership of the service through a distributed leadership model, as part of a team of Senior EPs, a Deputy PEP, and the PEP.

You'll work with other services to provide a Team Around the School approach to early intervention and prevention, including systemic as well as individual work. You will provide line management supervision to a small group of EPs and take part in our model of peer supervision across the service.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have strong leadership and management skills
  • Empower other people to take an active role in creating positive change
  • Remain non-judgemental and supportive when encountering difficult interactions
  • Enable children and young people to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect them across the system
  • Actively promote and support educational and social inclusion.

To apply for this role, please follow the 'Apply Now' button above and upload your CV and a Supporting Statement. We will be using your Supporting Statement to shortlist so please be sure to address how you meet all the criteria in the person specification, drawing on any relevant work/life experience, education, or personal interests.

Interviews will take place in person on Friday 1 August 2025 at County Hall, St Anne's Crescent, Lewes BN7 1UE. If you are unavailable on this date let us know and we may be able to schedule an alternative date to interview you.

Working with East Sussex EPS is a rare experience in the current EP climate, as we continue to be able to offer link EP support to every school in East Sussex. We have strong CPD offer and good professional links with local universities and EP training courses.

There is autonomy and flexibility in terms of working hours and opportunities to work from home. You will have innovative, friendly, and supportive colleagues, many who are skilled in using dynamic assessment and person-centred approaches. You'll be working in a beautiful and varied environment, including coastal, rural, and urban, with each presenting unique challenges and rewards.
