What is the job role?
We are recruiting for our internal leadership team within the service to replace an existing member of staff. You will be well supported with opportunities for progression. Each role within the team is critical to providing an excellent and cohesive service to the families and children of Coventry.
As a Senior Education, Health and Care Plan Coordinator, you will lead a team of Coordinators and administrative staff. You will support statutory work, handle complex casework, conflict resolution, Tribunal cases, and demonstrate a person-centred approach working with Coventry’s families, children, and young people with SEND.
You will manage a caseload of complex cases related to educational settings, oversee the EHC needs assessment process, and ensure timely annual reviews.
You will produce high-quality EHC Plans for children and young people aged 0-25, ensuring compliance with the Children’s and Families Act and the Equality Act.
This position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.
We seek an inclusive leader who values diversity, fosters respect, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and is committed to creating a supportive environment for all individuals.
Our families and children come from diverse backgrounds, and it is vital our workforce reflects this diversity and understands their unique experiences.
We encourage applications from men and minority ethnic groups, as they are currently under-represented in our team. This does not exclude applications from other candidates.
You should be experienced, with substantial knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, SEND Regulations, and the Equality Act. Line management experience and a strong commitment to children and young people with SEND are essential.
You must be highly literate, an excellent communicator, capable of prioritising in a busy environment, and able to collaborate with stakeholders including families, children, young people, schools, colleges, health, and social care.
We are looking for a motivated, person-centred professional who supports Coventry One Values, understands the importance of delivering public services efficiently, and is creative and solution-focused to lead your team effectively.
You should be an enthusiastic, culturally competent leader with experience in an inclusive senior role demonstrating your dedication to children and young people with additional needs.
