About The Team

The Funding Policy and Systems team, within the Skills and Employment Unit, focuses on economic analysis, evaluation, data processing, and policy support. The team works closely with delivery and policy teams to support decision-making and policy development, including analysis of the London Learner Survey and bi-annual Adult Skills Fund data publication.

About The Role

This role supports the delivery of the Adult Skills Fund (ASF) and related programmes, requiring collaboration across teams to align with the Mayor’s vision for adult education in London. Responsibilities include data analysis, policy support, and contract management to ensure effective funding and policy implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide analysis and data processing for policy development and operational support, including ASF data publication and evaluation programs.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis using robust statistical methods to support funding decisions aligned with Mayor’s priorities.
  • Support delivery teams with performance metrics and contract management data.
What Your Day Will Look Like

You will use data to support policy development, analyze learner and programme data, stay informed on London’s skills and labour market trends, present data insights, and explore new data science techniques to enhance project delivery.

Skills, Knowledge And Experience
  • Degree or professional qualification in economics or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in research and complex analysis to inform policy.
  • Experience with datasets like the Individualised Learner Record or similar.
  • Strong data analysis, interpretation, and visualization skills.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, STATA, or SQL.
