Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is recruiting an Associate Ecologist to join our Scotland team. You will work both independently and in teams, engaging clients to understand requirements and secure project support. Lead large projects, manage programmes and budgets, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver ecologi cal solutions.

You will advise on UKHab surveys, PEA, EIA and Biodiversity Net Gain, with strong botanical skills and proven bid-winning capability. Driving licence and regional travel are expected.

Qualifications

• An exemplary working knowledge of the natural environment and wildlife legislation.
• Chartered through CIEEM, CEcol or CEnv or actively working towards this.
• Experience on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and familiarity with the DCO process.
• Ability to advise on UKHab surveys, PEA, EIA and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
• Strong botanical skills (FISC level 3+ or equivalent).
• Strong project management with technical, financial and QA aspects.
• Experience in protected species survey, mitigation and licensing.
• Experience in work winning and maintaining client relationships.
• Ability to manage ecology deliverables from bidding through to completion.
• Full UK/EEC driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead on large projects or frameworks and oversee programmes and budgets.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders/clients.
• Drive cross-selling opportunities and bid support to win work in the region.
• Undertake technical checks of ecological reports and licence applications.
• Design ecological mitigation for development and nature recovery projects.
• Deliver high quality ecological deliverables in line with guidance and best practice.
• Coach, mentor and support other staff members in their development.
• Manage ecology deliverables and projects from bidding through to completion.
