Fed up with box-ticking consultancy work? Fancy doing ecology properly?

A design-led landscape and engineering studio in Chester is on the hunt for a Senior Ecologist to put ecology at the heart of its projects - not bolted on as an afterthought. You'll work side by side with landscape architects and engineers to shape places that actually respond to climate and biodiversity challenges.

Projects range from housing and education to public realm and destination schemes. They've got the work; now they need someone who can help lead the ecological side and help grow the offer from the inside out.

What's involved:

Lead surveys, reporting and planning input (yes, you'll still be in the field)

*

Help win work and build an internal ecology team

*

Make sure things are legally sound and ecologically spot on

*

Collaborate across disciplines (people actually talk to each other here - they're a very friendly bunch)

BNG Delivery

What you'll need:

*

Solid experience in consultancy and at least one protected species licence

*

Sharp understanding of legislation, survey methods and reporting

*

CIEEM or CIWEM membership

*

A practical approach, strong communication skills, and your own car

Salary: £35,000-£45,000, depending on experience. You'll get flexibility, proper support, and the chance to help shape how things are done.
