Mott MacDonald invites you to join our Nature Services Team as a Senior Ecologist. You will work across UK projects, mentoring juniors, conducting office-based work and site surveys, and coordinating with experts to deliver high-quality ecological outputs.

We value professional wildlife specialisms, offer hybrid working, and encourage development in project management and leadership within a supportive, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Ecology (or a directly related subject). An additional higher degree would be an advantage.
• Over five years’ experience in Ecological Consultancy (or equivalent with transferable skills)
• A Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively to multi-disciplinary teams, clients and regulators
• Technical specialism: Ornithologist with licensing, Botanist (FISC level 4+), BNG lead experience, protected species licence
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior team members and participate in office-based tasks and site surveys/work.
• Contribute to up to large projects, coordinating with subject matter experts to pull in resources.
• Ensure deliverables are on time and within budget, with potential to grow project management experience.
