Role – SeniorEcologist

Location – Bristol

Salary - £38 - £42K DOE

Lead Careers have a great opportunity for a Senior Ecologist who is looking for their next role within a friendly team in Bristol. They are a well-established Ecological Consultancy who work with a range of clients including developers, large corporations, and governments to solvea wide variety of environmental projects throughout the Highlands & Islands. They have been the go-to consultancy for many developers, local authorities for over 10 years

They are offering the successful Senior Ecologist the opportunity to work on a wide variety of interesting projects, an excellent working environment, health insurance, pension, TOIL policy, flexibility for work-life-balance, training opportunities and the chance to work with an experienced and specialist team using the most current ecological equipment.

You will be managing your own projects from inception to completion and delivering high level survey, assessment and reports, mentoring and managing early career ecologists when necessary.

SENIOR ECOLOGIST KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in ecology or related subject
• A minimum of 4 years post graduate experience in a fast-paced environmental consultancy and knowledge of flora and fauna in the North of Scotland
• A broad range of ecological experience on large-scale projects in key sectors, and ECOW experience in same
• A Bat Licence is essential
• A thorough knowledge of ecological legislation and planning policy in Scotland
• Excellent report writing skills and project management abilities
• An understanding of the EU Habitats Directive in so far as they relate to project-based ecological impact assessments being undertaken by an ecological consultancy.
• Full driving licence is essential
