Qualifications

  • Experienced Ecologist with circa 5 years UK experience.
  • Associate member of CIEEM or working towards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys including Phase 1 habitat survey and protected species surveys.
  • Write accurate and concise reports, including EcIAs and HRAs.
  • Deliver work on time and within budget.

Role Summary

A successful conservation and environmental consultancy dedicated to enhancing nature and biodiversity are expanding their team and are looking to hire a Senior Ecologist in the Nottingham Area to cover a number of works they have recently won.

Candidate Specification

- Experienced Ecologist with circa 5 years UK experience
- A degree in Ecology (or directly related subject). An additional higher degree
- Associate member of CIEEM or working towards
- Knowledge of wildlife legislation including planning processes and/or EIA/HRA assessments and undertaking surveys.
- Knowledge, understanding and experience of applying relevant guidance for surveys.
- Experience in report writing skills, displaying good standards with attention to detail and ability to write accurate and concise reports, including EcIAs and HRAs.
- Knowledge of the processes involved in undertaking a range of ecology reports, including EcIAs and HRAs.
- Experience in field surveys including Phase 1 habitat survey, UK Habitat assessment, BNG condition assessment and protected species surveys.
- Attention to detail and the ability to deliver work on time and to budget.
- Good communication skills including report writing.
- Willingness to travel to sites a required and be able to work independantly
