A leading company is seeking a Senior Ecologist to join their environmental team in London. The role involves managing projects focused on Biodiversity Net Gain, providing technical advice, and ensuring client satisfaction. As a Senior Ecologist, you will join our team of over 50 ecologists with extensive experience in ecological surveys, assessments, and providing advice on soil, land use, hydrology, sustainable drainage, arboriculture, ecosystem services, natural capital, biodiversity strategies, and cultural heritage. We have completed over 2,000 projects across the UK, Europe, and beyond for both public and private clients.
Within our Environmental team, your work may involve protected species, pollution, surface water, materials management, air quality, or noise, in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.
Current projects include urban and greenfield residential developments, highway and rail schemes, power stations, electrical and gas infrastructure, for clients such as EDF Energy, National Grid, Environment Agency, Transport for London, Highways England, Network Rail, Canal and River Trust, and Housing Associations. We are also engaged in international work through Environmental, Social, and Health Impact Assessments and our natural capital community of practice.
This role focuses on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG). Reporting to the Team Leader, you will coordinate and complete assigned tasks and projects, lead small projects to meet deadlines, budgets, and SHEQ standards, and manage ecological aspects of client relationships to exceed expectations. You will lead small to medium-sized projects, providing direction, technical advice, and leading by example.
