Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Devon is seeking a Senior Ecologist to lead ecological surveys and manage projects from inception to completion.

The role requires 4+ years in ecological consultancy, and full UK driving licence. Hybrid working and generous CPD/training budgets are offered, with excellent opportunities for career progression within a collaborative consultancy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ ecological consultancy experience.
• Full or Associate CIEEM membership (or working towards Full Membership).
• Experience managing protected species surveys and ecological projects.
• Strong report writing skills, including EcIA and BNG assessments.
• Knowledge of UK planning policy and wildlife legislation.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Living in or near the Devon office.

Responsibilities

• Lead ecological surveys and manage projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare and review technical reports; provide expert advice to clients.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
• Maintain excellent client relationships and support business development.

As a Senior Ecologist, you will lead ecological surveys, manage projects from inception to completion, prepare and review technical reports, and provide expert advice to clients. The Senior Ecologist will also mentor junior team members, contribute to Biodiversity Net Gain assessments, and play a key role in maintaining excellent client relationships.
