Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Senior Statistician to lead rigorous analyses of LTEC programme data across 37 sites in England, focusing on climate change and air pollution impacts on biodiversity. The role is fully remote for UK-based applicants with right to work in the UK.

You will design experiments, use R or Python, contribute to scientific literature, and help develop a revised monitoring design for 2026/27, ensuring efficient data collection and clear reporting to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in ecological statistical knowledge and related analyses.
• Strong understanding of experimental/survey design and related statistics.
• Proficiency with R or Python for multivariate analysis and uncertainty quantification.

Responsibilities

• Provide statistical leadership for the LTEC programme, undertaking complex statistical analysis.
• Unlock the value of long-term datasets by rigorous, iterative analysis.
• Analyse complex, multi-pressure ecological datasets to identify causal drivers of ecosystem change.
• Develop a revised monitoring design to increase statistical power and efficiency.
• Revise monitoring design to retain current methodology where possible, enabling data reuse.
