Job summary

The InHealth Group is seeking a permanent full-time Echocardiographer to perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms in our Greater Manchester Echo team, covering South East Manchester and Salford with occasional Liverpool work. You will mentor trainee physiologists and contribute to the education programme, with regular home working for audit.

Applicants must hold BSE accreditation or equivalent, have experience with BSE reporting guidelines, and possess a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• BSE accreditation or equivalent.
• Experience performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiograms to BSE standards.
• Knowledge of Data Protection Act, Information Governance and Caldicott Principles.
• Willingness to embrace new thinking and new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms to the BSE minimum data set and local reporting guidelines.
• Provide expert clinical guidance through the second-opinion rota and ensure guidelines followed in peer review.
• Run quality assurance checks on equipment and act on findings.
• Submit reports and archive study images under contractual requirements and local SOPs.
• Liaise with hospital departments and GP practices on urgent clinical referrals.
• Support patient bookings and maintain patient information systems.
• Provide a safe and welcoming clinical environment for patients.
• Support the team in driving clinical standards in diagnostics.
• Mentor and support trainee physiologists and the wider education programme.
• Work from home regularly to support the clinical audit programme and clinical support framework.
