Job summary

Pride Veterinary Referrals in Derby, part of Scarsdale Veterinary Group, seeks a Senior ECC Specialist to lead and develop our specialist-led ECC service. You will manage a diverse emergency caseload, mentor colleagues, and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care in a 24/7 hospital setting.

The role emphasizes training clinicians and nurses, refining emergency protocols, and contributing to ongoing education across the hospital and referring practices.

Qualifications

• Diplomate status (or eligibility) in Emergency and Critical Care.
• Advanced clinical expertise in the management of emergency and critically ill patients.
• Strong communication skills for work with referring vets, clients and teams.
• Experience mentoring or supervising clinicians and nurses.
• Collaborative approach and enthusiasm for developing referral services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver outstanding emergency and critical care services within a multidisciplinary team.
• Establish and refine protocols for emergency case management and inter-service transfers.
• Mentor and supervise ECC clinicians and nurses; contribute to CPD and training.
• Support growth and efficient operation of the ECC service.
• Collaborate with specialists across disciplines to improve patient care.
