Job summary

Monkey Puzzle Nursery Group is seeking an Early Years Quality & Compliance Auditor to assess the quality, compliance and effectiveness across our network of nursery settings through a robust audit programme.

You will conduct evidence-based evaluations, identify risks and areas for improvement, produce audit reports and SMART improvement plans, and work with the Early Years Quality Team to ensure alignment with quality support plans. Travel across the UK is required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Full and relevant Early Years qualification or above.
• Experience in a senior/leadership role in an early years setting.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, Ofsted toolkit and inspection processes.
• Experience leading an early years setting through Ofsted inspections with positive outcomes.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, safer recruitment and health & safety requirements.
• Knowledge of SEND, inclusion and equality legislation.
• Experience evaluating quality and compliance in early years settings.
• Ability to identify improvements and develop improvement plans.
• Ability to gather, evaluate and triangulate evidence for objective judgments.
• Experience producing professional reports and communicating findings.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with ability to challenge constructively.
• Ability to work independently with professional judgement and confidentiality.
• Competent IT skills including Microsoft 365.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk-based quality and compliance audits across all settings on a 12-month rolling programme.
• Support planning and delivery of the audit programme with consistent, objective judgments.
• Evaluate settings against EYFS, Ofsted, and Monkey Puzzle quality standards.
• Review safeguarding, safer recruitment, health & safety, curriculum, SEND and inclusion.
• Champion quality provision and readiness for inspections across the network.
• Provide recommendations and actions to strengthen quality and inspection readiness.
• Deliver audit findings and improvement plans within seven days of audits.
• Collaborate with Early Years Quality Managers to align audit activities.
• Share reports and maintain records using organisational systems.
• Travel across the UK for audits and follow-up visits.
