Job summary

South Ayrshire Council, Monkton Early Years Centre, is seeking a Senior Early Years Practitioner for a term-time contract. You will join a supportive early years team under the Head Teacher to plan, deliver and assess high-quality education and care for young children and their families in Monkton.

The role requires PVG Scheme membership or update and is temporary until 22/12/2026. Interviews scheduled for 04/09/2026. The grade and salary reflect term-time hours with an annual pro-rata salary.

Qualifications

• PVG scheme membership or update required before offer of employment.
• Term-time contract with hours to support planning, delivery and assessment of high-quality education and care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess high-quality early years education and care as part of the team under the Head Teacher.
• Contribute to planning, delivering and evaluating activities to meet children and family needs.
• Work within the PVG framework and safeguarding requirements.
