Job summary

Join a leading local authority as a Senior Practitioner in Early Education and Childcare. In this permanent, full-time role, you will lead a team to deliver high-quality learning experiences in a new nursery setting. Job description

Salary: £34,126 - £38,159 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week

This is a 52-week non-sessional post i.e. it will include working during the school holidays.

Days and Hours of Work:
Monday, 08:00-14:00
Tuesday, 11:00-16:45
Wednesday - Friday, 08:00-16:15

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a growing team and develop in their Early Years Career. We are looking for someone who can work alongside our other Senior Practitioner to guide the team and continue to deliver high quality early learning and childcare in an environment where all children have the opportunity to flourish and progress to the best of their abilities.

The successful candidate will be part of the team establishing exciting new practice in a brand new purpose built nursery building.

To work as part of and supervise on a day to day basis, a team of early learning and childcare practitioners, in delivering a high quality child centred service which supports the needs of children and families and enables each child to achieve their potential within a caring, safe and welcoming environment.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
You must be educated to HNC level in Early Education and Childcare or hold SNNB/HNC/SVQ3 qualifications in Childcare/Education or equivalent and be able to evidence additional learning and knowledge of current practice and legislation in relation to Early Learning and Childcare.

Scottish Social Services Council:
SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration within 3 months of your start date to ensure that you are registered within the required 6 months.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
