Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking an experienced Early Years Improvement Advisor to lead and support high-quality early years provision across Herefordshire. The role requires QTS and leadership experience, with opportunities to influence settings such as childminders, nurseries and reception classes.

Your work will focus on improving standards, safeguarding and inclusive practice, in collaboration with partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and leadership experience.
• Experience with Ofsted inspections is desirable.
• Experience delivering training and providing high-quality advisory support.

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in early childhood development to support high-quality early education.
• Mentor and coach nursery staff, childminders and educators; deliver training sessions.
• Drive QA and continuous improvement across settings to meet and exceed standards.
• Advise on EYFS delivery and safeguarding, inclusion and learning policies.
• Engage families and communities to support children's learning at home.
• Monitor progress, analyse data and prepare reports for local authority planning.
