Job summary

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust Nurseries is seeking a Qualified Senior Early Years Educator (Children’s Senior Practitioner) for our Crawley-based nursery. The role supports delivery of high-quality early years education and care for children aged 9 months to 5 years while parents work for the NHS and local community.

The Senior Educator deputises for the Nursery Manager, helping to lead the team, ensure safety and wellbeing, and promote development across the setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 vocational Early Years qualification.
• Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or equivalent.
• Desirable: Level 4 Foundation degree in Early Years.
• Relevant experience in a children’s early years nursery setting.
• Experience of leadership in an early years setting and OFSTED experience.
• Ability to travel to other Trust locations, as required.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery and promotion of high-quality early years education and care.
• Deputise for the Nursery Manager in their absence.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment that supports each child’s health, development and wellbeing.
