The Ethics and Independence (E&I) team are part of the Risk Operations Group (ROG) within the Operational Excellence Hub (OEH). They monitor the firm's and its individuals' compliance with professional risk management and quality control policies, procedures, and guidance. The team collaborates with the wider Quality and Risk community and across the KPMG network to exchange knowledge and improve processes in response to emerging regulatory, business, and other requirements.

The Personal E&I team manages processes to demonstrate oversight of compliance according to firm/regulatory policies, including onboarding, mandatory training, and providing guidance on personal independence matters. They are the first point of contact for related requests, conducting necessary research to respond or escalate as needed.

What will you be doing?

This role supports the Assistant Manager in delivering high-quality service across our catalogue. You will assist with personal E&I activities, focusing on a right-first-time approach and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include training the team, ensuring compliance, consulting on queries, root cause analysis, and process enhancement.

  • Assisting the management team and providing SME support to the E&I team
  • Identifying issues in E&I tasks, ensuring proper escalation and recording
  • Supporting ongoing training and development of the team
  • Ensuring tasks comply with regulations and guidance within SLAs
  • Assigning E&I tasks and monitoring completion using internal systems
  • Maintaining knowledge of personal independence rules
  • Responding to queries and clearing exceptions based on independence requirements
  • Liaising with onboarding to resolve escalations and issues
  • Managing mailboxes and helpline queries
  • Generating reports and analytics for management
  • Supporting wider compliance programs and projects
