About the role

We are seeking to appoint a technician to support the Design and Technology Department on a permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week for 39 weeks a year (term time plus inset days). Grade 5 SCP 5-6 pay award pending.

The successful applicant will work under the supervision of the head of department, primarily within resistant materials. Responsibilities include maintaining workrooms and equipment, ordering and preparing materials for lessons, supporting students with their learning and projects, and maintaining Health and Safety records within the department.

We require someone:
  • Enthusiastic and committed to the learning needs of all young people.
  • Organised, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experienced in the safe use of power tools and knowledgeable about health and safety practices.
  • Effective communicator, able to maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, and external contractors.

Carpentry or engineering experience and ICT skills would be advantageous.
